Evening classes

£320 10 weeks

Our evening classes provide an informal and relaxed approach to jewellery making, giving students an opportunity to learn new skills and experiment. Concentrating on developing hand skills and techniques, all projects are possible, from simple rings, to more elaborate gem set pieces. Students of all abilities are welcome

Classes run roughly in line with the school year with Autumn Winter and Summer terms, each ten weeks long.

Monday Evening Classes

General jewellery skills.

Teacher: Pierpaolo Belfiore Pierpaolo will guide you through some of the basics in jewellery making and introduce you to the tools and equipment in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to make some simple pieces of jewellery and develop your skills to try out some more complicated designs including some gem set pieces.

Each class is three hours. (6:00-9:00pm)

Maximum of six in any class.

Tuesday Evening Classes

General jewellery skills.

Teacher: Kate Statham Kate will guide you through some of the basics in jewellery making and introduce you to the tools and equipment in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to make some simple pieces of jewellery and develop your skills to try out some more complicated designs including some gem set pieces.

Each class is three hours. (6:00-9:00pm)

Maximum of six in any class.

£320 per term

 

Wednesday Afternoon Classes

General jewellery skills

Teacher: Pierpaolo Belfiore Pierpaolo will guide you through some of the basics in jewellery making and introduce you to the tools and equipment in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to make some simple pieces of jewellery and develop your skills to try out some more complicated designs including some gem set pieces.

Each class is three hours. (2:00pm - 5:00pm)

Maximum of six in any class.

Wednesday Evening Classes

Wax Carving & Delft Clay Castings

Teacher: Barnaby Simpson You will be guided through how to carve wax, adapt carving tools to suit your needs, what the limitations and flexibility of carving wax and refining your skills. You will be shown and will yourself learn how to use Delft Clay to create molds into which you will pour molten metal directly into the mold, casting your design yourself. You will learn what Delft Clay allows you to do, what kind of designs can or can't be cast in one piece or in parts. Making castings from existing objects is also an option. There will be some basic soldering for the construction and addition of your setting, jump rings, bails, ring shanks, etc to your design.

Each class is three hours. (6:00-9:00pm)

Thursday Evening Classes

General jewellery making and silversmithing.

Teacher: Vince Peckham. Vince will guide you through some of the basics in jewellery making and introduce you to the tools and equipment in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to make some simple pieces of jewellery and develop your skills to try out some more complicated silversmithing techniques.

Each class is three hours. (6:00-9:00pm)

Maximum of six in any class.

£320 per term

 

Friday Evening Classes

General jewellery making for beginners.

Teacher: Andrea Eserin Andrea will guide you through some of the basics in jewellery making and introduce you to the tools and equipment in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to make some simple pieces of jewellery starting with a silver band.

Each class is three hours. (5:00-8:00pm)

Maximum of six in any class.
